Who Am I?

My name is Damon van de Loenhorst (Artist Name: Super Generaal) and I've been a content creator for 10 years.

As a kid I fell in love with movies at an early base. At the age of 7 I had already seen all Harry Potter, Lord of the Rings, Pirates of the Caribbean, Indiana Jones and Transformers movies. The thing that attracts me the most to movies are the amazing fictional story’s and places you get to experience, for a second it just feels like everything else around you disappears and like you’re escaping into an amazing world where everything is possible.
 

Because of my passion for movies I started drawing at an early age. My dad always loved to draw when we were on holiday’s and I picked up on that. I began collecting LEGO, building my own worlds and creating my own stories. At one point I began writing down my own stories and at the age of 12 I started out my journey as a content creator on YouTube. I became fascinated with almost every part of content creation and started exploring as many different aspects of it.

In 2018 I started my education in Animation and Audiovisual Design at the Grafisch Lyceum Utrecht. Believe it or not this was the first time I got my hands on a laptop/ pc to create content on and a whole new world of possibilities opened up. In my 4th year I was tasked with becoming an intern, that’s how I ended up at Live Legends.
 

The thing that drew me to Live Legends was the work previously made by Hectic Electric. I wanted to learn more about 3D and compositing and they did exactly that for commercials and films. Hectic Electric had already become a part of Live Legends at that point. I never really stood still at the idea of creating content for live events but when I saw what Live Legends was doing I was overwhelmed by the experiences they are creating.

I joined the company as an Intern and learned a lot from their content team about 3D, content creation and live events. The people that work at Live Legends made me feel at home and it has been amazing to work with a team so dedicated to creating unforgettable experiences. After my one year as a Live Legends intern I finished school and came back to become a full time VFX Artist for a year.

 

In oktober 2023 I started working at The Visual Factory. I've worked there full time for over a year untill the end of november 2024. I got to work on some amazing shows like the Avond van de Filmmuziek and tv-shows like HUMBERTO, BEAU & RENZE. The thing that is so special about The Visual Factory is the fact that they're are working in the same building as the companies Light-H-Art, Marketgraph and Happy Technology. They collaborate a lot and create beautifull shows together.

I’m 22 now and I still love to create magical content & make stories come to life. It has been 10 years since I started out my journey as a content creator, when I look back now I’m very proud of how far I’ve come and can’t wait to see what the future holds.
